The Late Mr Nye
The late Mr Nye, the victim of the tragedy, was a comparatively young man, being 44 years of age. He was the son of the late Mr George Nye, one of the pioneers of Foxton. The late Mr Nye was ■born add educated in Foxton. He took over his late father’s property (“Sunnyside”) some years ago, and has successfully formed it since. He was Universally' respected not only by Europeans, but also by the Maoris, The latter are just as concerned at his untimely death as We his pakeha friends. He was esteemed for hi| fine-.social qualifies, and vfas deservedly popular,
He was twice married and has three children by his first wife. Sincere sympathy is expressed for his wife throughout the town and district. The funeral will leave his late residence for the Foxton cemetery at 2 o’clock to-morrow.
Sub - Inspector O’Donovan arrived last night- and viewed the ‘body of deceased and inspected the premises.
