SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
A special <■ meeting, of, the local ' school committee was held on - Thursday evening for the purpose of considering the report of the sub-committe> re proposed “ improvements to the school grounds. There were present: Messrs Homblow (chairman). Rev Aitken (secretary), Betty, Bullard* I#evett, Henderson and AlexSpeirs. The work suggested includes fencing a portion of the ground off for beautifying purposes,, completing , a portion of thePaxk Street fence, dividing hoys playground from the girls aagi. hovelling the grounds. ** The report received and adopted. Jt was resolved that Mr Alecs Speirs prepare an estimate of the cost of the proposed work, , to be submitted at the. next meeting.—Resolved to raise the committee’s, proportion of the cost by. , ' means of a . bazaar to be held on.
