LOCAL OPTION.
EDUCATIVE EFFECT ON THE VOTER. , Eondon, June 18. Sir Robert Stout, Chief Justice of New. Zealand, was entertained at lunch in the House of Commons by the United Kingdom Alliance. In the course of an address, Sir Robert remarked that a triennial local option vote would, if tried in England, do more for the education of public opinion on the temperance question than the closing scores of public houses.
