CRICKET.
The test match was concluded on Wednesday and resulted in a win for Australia by nine wickets. The Englishmen who had lost one wicket for 16 runs, resumed their innings on a fast wicket. The innings occupied only two and a half hours, the last wicket falling with the score at 121. Jones . 26, MacTaren 24 and Tilley 24 not out were the only double figure scorers. Of the Australian bowlers Armstrong was in great form securing six wickets for 35 runs- At one stage of the innings this bowler had secured five wickets for eight runs—a great bowling feat in firstclass cricket. Noble captured one wicket for 12 runs and Taver one for 24. Requiring 41 runs to win Australia commenced their second innings and secured that number after 40 minutes play for the loss of one wicket.
