BRITISH POLITICS.
London, June 8,
Mr Austen Chamberlain moved the rejection of the Budget. He said the Government was forcing a weapon of oppression and confiscation. The real authors are Mr Phillip Snowden (Socialist) and the Labour Party. If the Budget be carried it will be a triumph for Free Trade, and the death-blow to Fiscal Reform. Let the electors decide. He scoffed at the idea that capital will take wings and fly away, and vigorously defended the land clauses.
The debate was adjourned.
