THE CGAEITION CABINET. Melbourne, June 2. The new Ministry has been sworn in as follows: Premier : Hon. Alfred Deakin. Minister of Defence: Hon.; Joseph Cook. Treasurer : Rt. Hon. Sir Jbhn Forrest. Attorney-General; Hon. P. U. Flynn. Minister of Customs : Hon. Sir Robert Best. Minister of External Affairs: Hon. E. E. Groom. Minister of Home Affairs: Hon. G. W. Failler. Postmaster-General: Sir John Quick. Vice-President of the Executive Council: Hon. E. D. Miller. Honorary Minister: Hon. Justin Foxton. In the House after Mr Deakin had announced the names of the new Ministry, he moved the adjournment to June 23rd, to enable the Government to formulate a policy. After a couple of hours’ criticism on the coalition and the Cabinet, by the Opposition, Mr Deakin’s motion was carried by 28 votes to 22. The Senate counted out in discussing the motion to adjourn for three weeks.
