FOOTBALL.
The first match of the. second round of the senior competition will be played on the racecourse on Saturday between Rongotea and Awahou. The game will commence at 3 o’clock and Dr Adams will referee. The junior fixture is Albion v. Awahou and will be played at the same time as the senior. Mr J. Desmond will have charge of the whistle. At Tuesday night's meeting of the Manawatu Rugby Union, a letter was read from the Foxton Sub-Union, asking that players in their district be allowed to participate in the Manawatu Union’s accident insurance scheme. —After discussion, it was decided that the Foxton teams be admitted to the fund on the same terms as Palmerston Clubs, viz., £1 is for each team, and 2s per member. In the first round of the seven a-side competitions to be played at Palmerston North to-day, Awahou has been drawn to meet Kia-Toa, and Albion to meet Feilding; Awahou Juniors play Linton A.
