MURDER AND SUICIDE BY JEALOUS LOVER. Brisbane, June 1. A young man named Ebberhardt shot dead Miss Juett, a resident of Brisbane, shattering her head. Ebberhardt then committed suicide, shooting himself through the heart. Jealousy is supposed to be the motive of the crime. SUICIDE OF A BANKER. • London, May 31. Mr Dennis Samuel, brother of Mr Herbert Samuel, Undersecretary for the Home Department, and a member of the firm of Samuel, Montagu and Co., bankers, committed suicide on Leamington railway, while in a state of nervous breakdown following influenza; CAPTAIN DISAPPEARS AT SEA. -Paris,; May 31. Captain " Boyer,' of the Messa--igeries Maritimes steamer Dumbea, from Freemantle, while suffering frgU\ tepipbfary. insanity, disappeared overboard on passing the island of- Corsica, in the Mediterrahean. During the voyage his vessel came into collision with another steamer off Bombay.
