COMMERCIAL.
DEVIN WOOD, SKIN AND HIDES SADE. Messrs Swainson and Sevan, Dtd., report as follows:—The total offerings at the Devin sales yesterday comprised i x fadges of wool, 1073 sheep skins, 272 hides and calf skins, 5 casks and 43 tins of tallow of which our catalogue consisted of 9 fadges of wool, 703 sheep skins, 186 hides and calfskins, 4 casks and 7 tins of tallow. There was a large attendance of buyers present, and competition was the keenest we have experienced for the past x 2 months. We again topped the market in hides, calf skins and sheep skins. The highest prices of the day were :—39 ox at 6d per lb, 49 calf at and ax crossbred , skins at 5s each. We quote las {follows. —Wool: medium fleece 7 %d, seedy and dingy to 6d, pieces 2d to 2fd. Sheep skins: Fine crossbred medium crossbred 6%d to 6j4d, half wools 3d to s%d, lambs to shorts s%d to sd, lambs pelts s&d to 6>£d, dead
and broken Crossbred damp: 4s yd, 4s rod, 5s to 5s id each. . Crossbred salted 4s xod, lambs salted 4s id. Hides: Ox medium 6d, light to 5%d, bulls 4d. Crossbred cut 4'id, ox green 27s to 295.
