ALL SAINTS’ ANNUAL JUVENILE BALL
A PRONOUNCED SUCCESS. There was a record attendacce at the above plain and fancy dress ball held in the Public Hall last night, under the auspices of All Saints’ Dadies Guild. The interior of the hall was beautifully decorated, thanks to the painstaking efforts of Messrs Holt, Rev. Woodward, Fowler, and others, who, one and all, worked like Trojans to ensure the success of the function. Special mention is due to the members of the Dadies’ Guild (whose names are too numerous to particularise), who toiled so zealously throughout the trying preparatory arrangements, and who catered so excellently for the enjoyment of the little ones especially. The Rev. G, YoungWoodward officiated as master of ceremonies during the first part of the evening, and the entire programme, as published below, was gone through without a hitch : Grand Match, Polka, Dancers, Berlin Polka, Mazuika, Polka, Dancers, Barn Dance, Waltz, Polka and Dances. The Grand March was repealed, by special request, and after supper, the Rev. Mr Woodward called tor cheers tor Miss Cook (who had supplied such excellent music in her usual willing and finished manner), the members of the Dadies’ Guild and all who had assisted in bringing the affair to .such an unqualified success. The Vicar then announced that the children would be allowed three more dances, after which they would disperse, thus leaving the floor clear for adults. Miss Cook also supplied the music for the second half, assisted by her sister, Miss Hilda Cook. Mr Cbas. Collins acted as M.C. and dancing was kept merrily going till after midnight. It is impossible for us to publish a full list of those in fancy dress unless the names and characters of same are handed in. The following are those ascertained:— GIRLS.
