At- Christchurch the Prime Minister informed a . representative of the Press that he had pleasure in stating that the whole ot the Public Accounts for the financial year 1908-09 had been passed by the Audit Department, and were to be returned to the Minister of Finance. He added that again, as was the case last year and the year before, they were being returned without comment of any sort and with no “tags.” It was very gratifying to know that the whole of the year’s extensive operations had passed the ordeal of the Controller and AuditorGeneral’s office, and had been found without blemish.
