DOUBLE BURNING FATALITY.

TWO GIRTS PERISH. Grevmouth, May 7. A fire at Brunner destroyed Watchman’s store and dwelling. His two daughters, aged 17 and four years, were burnt to death. Later details show that the Watchmans returned home at 12 o’clock from a social. The fire was discovered at 1.30 a.m., but the cause is unknown. The victims are Jane Watchman, aged 17 years, and Elizabeth, aged five years. Both made an effort to get out, but were apparently overcome by smoke. All the other inmates escaped by jumping from the second storey windows. All sustained minor injuries. The most seriously hurt is Thomas, who had his arm broken. All the members of the family are utterly prostrated.
