MASONIC.

The installation of Bro. J. K. Horublow as W.M. of the local Masonic Lodge, and Investiture of Officers, took place last night. Visiting brethren were present from the Wairarapa and neighbouring sister lodges. R. Wor. Bro. R. Fletcher, Provincial G.M., officiated as Installing Master, and R. Wor. Bro. J. A. Nash, G-D.C., Director of Ceremonies, Among other members of Grand Lodge present were R. Wor. Bro. J, A. Moucrieff, G.S.W., and Wor. Bro. Elliott. The following officers were invested I.P.M. Wor. Bro. Healey; S.W. Bro. M- Perreau ; J.W. Bro. Bradley; Chaplain Wor. Bro. W. S. Stewart ; Secretary Bro. Rev. G. K. Aitkeu ; Treasurer Bro. M. H. Walker ; S. D. Bro. J. Senior ; J. D. Bro. J. Gillies ; I. G. Bro. J. H. Walton ; Organist Bro. G. H. Stiles; S..S. Bro. E. Ball; J.S. Bro. A. Sylva ; .Tyler Bro. Johansen. During the ceremony Bro. Bett rendered the solo “ Dream of Paradise,” and Wor. Bro. Nash and Bros. Bett, Mundy and Sutcliffe the quartette, “Behold how good and joyful.” Wor. Bro. Healey was presented with P.M. Jewel. Asocial was subsequently held in the lower hall, at which the lady friends of the brethren were present, and a most enjoyable time was spent. Brief addresses were made by the Worshipful Master, Provincial Grand Master, and R. Wor. Bro. Moucrieff, G.S.W. Wor. Bro. Nash, owing to the unavoidable absence of Wor. Bro. Alt. Fraser, carried out the duties of M.C. Songs were rendered by Bros. Bett, Nash, Devine, Hankins, Mundy, Sutcliffe, and Perrett, and a recitation by Wor. Bro. Hornblow. Accompaniments were played by Bros. C. Naylor, Sutcliffe and Nash. Mr F. C. Berthold supplied the dance music, extras being played by Miss Cook and Bro. Nash. The floor was in “ apple-pie ” order, thanks to the efforts of Bros. Bradley, McLeod and Woods. Special mention is due to Mrs Stewart and her assistants for their untiring zeal to ensure the success of the function. A very enjoyable gathering concluded with the singing of “ Auld Lang Syne,”
