MOUTOA DRAINAGE BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Montoa Drainage Board was held in the Board’s office last night. Present: Messrs B. G. Gower (Chairman), H, G. Hammond, W. E. Barber and J. Symons. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The engineer’s report was received, and dealt with in committee.
The Clerk reported that the amount to the credit of the general account was ,£43 6s id, and the loan account 11s id. Advice had been received that the third instalment of on account of the loan had been posted, thus making ,£SOO us id available. Wages amounting to .£149 14s 56. have been paid since last meeting. The total expenditure out of loan to date including accounts to be passed is ,£1550 os tod, This includes an amount of ,£4OO 17s gd for timber, and ,£2ll 10s od for the engineer. Respecting rating for the ensuing year, one farthing general rate producing ,£152 should cover general expenses, and the same special rate as at present of oneeighth of a penny, giving ,£66 13s yd should again be sufficient. That is assuming that ,£4OOO of the loan is expended, being ,£2400 more than has been expended to date. Accounts amounting to ,£3 16s 6d against general account and ,£450 ns rid against loan acwere passed for payment. It was decided to make application to the Treasury for a further instalment of £ 7OO, on account of, the loan. The Board rose at 10.10 p.m.
