THE HEMP MARKET. There was the usual attendance of buyers, but bidding was quiet. Wool: Sold on a par with repent prices. We quote: Crossbred fleece sd to 6)4d, best lambs’ 7d to medium lambs’ 5M to 6)4d, pieces and bellies 2d to qd, locks i)4d to 2^d. Skins: There was no change in the market, but for green skins there was strong demand at high prices. We quote : Fine crossbreds 6d to 7d, crossbreds 3d to 6j4d, dead skins 3d to s}(d, dead hoggets’ 3d to 4)4d, green pelts 2s 6d to 3s 6d, lamb skins 2s 6d to 3s 6d, lamb pelts is to is gd.

Tallow : Firm. Parcels in shipping order tins £lB to 10s, rough fat to Horsehair: is to is 4d per lb. Horns 5s to 16s per hundred. Cowtails is 3d to is 6d per dozen. Hides ; We again brought forward a good catalogue, but calfskins were down quite a penny per lb, while cowhides dropped a farthing. We quote *. At the wool sales which have just closed 187,000 bales were offered, and 95,000 sold for the Home market, 69,000 for the Continent, and 18,000 for America, 12,500 being held over. Compared with the closing rates of the February series, superior greasy merinos advanced 5 per cent, medium 10 per cent, inferior 7% to 10 percent, superior scoured 7 to 10 per cent, medium, inferior, and all fine halfbreds 10 to 15 per cent., msdium crossbreds 5 to 7Yi per cant, coarse 5 per cent, all lambs wool 5 to per cent.
