SCHOOL PICNIC.
AT THE BEACH TOMORROW. The State School picnic will be held, weather permitting, at the Beach to-morrow. The children will be conveyed in the Foxtou River Service Co.’s large punts, in charge of Mr W. Signall. Parents will be allowed to accompany the children on payment of one shilling. The chilren will assemble at the school grounds at 9 a.m., and proceed to the punts in charge of the teaching staff. The headmaster will take every precaution to prevent any mishap to the children. The girls will occupy one punt and the boys another. It is requested that every child should bring a mug or cup. Arrived at the beach, games and races will be provided. The catering will be left in the bands of Mr Perreau. Parents, if they so desire, can supplement the food supplies. Mr Perreau has kindly consented to place his donkey at the disposal of the children. The children will leave for home at about 5 o’clock. It is hoped that ‘the weather will be favourable, and that the little ones will have a a real good time. A meeting of the committee will be held in the Herald office this evening, to make final arrangements.
