London, March 6. The by-election for Ha wrick District rendered necessary by the Itvation of the Rt. Hon. T. Shaw to the Bench, resulted Sir John Barrau (Liberal) 3028 Mr H. J. Mackinder (Tariff Reformer) 2508 Liberal majority 520 [The seat is therefore retained by the Liberals, who at the last election bad a majority ol 68x]. Oxford undergraduates refused Mr Keir Hardie a hearing in the Town Hall. They pelted the platform wh eggs and oranges. The meeting ended in a free fight.
