DISGRACEFUL SCENES AT A CARNIVAL.
Lisbon, February 28
Two hundred arrests were made, and many people were wounded at a carnival in Lisbon.
Mobs joined masqueraders, and stoned the police for interfering with the revellers, who were impersonating the late King Carlos and the late Crown Prince of Portugal’s assassins, and simulating their obsequies with coffins, skeletons aui blasphemous songs The military helped to quell the riot.
