Mr Allan MacDougall, M.A., of Victoria College, was selected yesterday as the New Zealand Rhodes scholar for 1909. The other candidates were—Messrs W. G. Aldridge, Auckland College ; Bruce Morrison, Wanganui Collegiate School; P. M’Callura, Canterbury College; and M. M’Lean, Otago University.
