The Manawatu Herald. Saturday, February 20, 1909. SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT.
Professor Wr ague’s interesting and educational lectures which he is delivering throughout the Dominion, should awaken an interest on the part of his hearers, to higher subjects, and broaden their outlook. It does one good to get a glimpse of the majesty of creation, per medium of the sensitized plate—it humbles ns. We are suddenly removed from the commonplace and the hum drum of the daily round, and are brought face to face with the stupendous works of the Great Creator. It is thus that we realise our insignificance, and are led to exclaim with the Psalmist ol old, “ What is man that Thou art mindful of him?” The keen competition for existence, however, will not allow us to remain too long “ above the clouds,” but such glimpses, if taken occasionally, tend to soften our narrow and materialistic natures.
