NO-LICENSE.

A meeting of the Central Council of the Manawatu No-License League was held at Sandon cn Wednesday last. There was a fully representative attendance of delegates from the local centres of the district. The chair was occupied by Mr Rockel, of Carnarvon. Amongst those present were the Revs. McNicol (Sandon), Evans, Sec. (Bulls), Carlisle (Rongotea), Gordon (Marton), Messrs Washington Stewart and F. W. Fraukland (Foxton), Mr Harper and the Rev. Ritchie, the organising secretary of the LeagueThe chief business of the meeting was to consider a proposal which had been made for the appointment of an organiser for the three districts, Manawatu, Oroua, and Palmerston conjointly. This proposal was, however, virtually negatived, as it was found that the finances of the party were in such an unexpectedly healthy condition as probably to warrant the appointment of a separate organiser for each of the three districts named.

It was then determined to start a local journal as organ of the Party, and it was felt that this step would render success almost certain at the poll in 1911.

Mr F. W. Fraukland was unanimously elected delegate to attend a similar meeting to be held at Feildiug next week.
