Mr T. M. Stevens, an elderly farmer, was, reports the Taranaki Herald, severely gored by a bull at his farm the other afternoon. It appears that be was driving some of Ids cows towards the milking shed. A bull was with the cows. The bull stopped while Mr Stephens was quietly driving the cattle along, allowed the unfortunate man to approach close to it, and then suddenly turned and charged him. He was driven across the paddock, the bull charging him several times. Mr Stephens was lacerated in three places on his body, and one of his ribs was broken. In addition he received numerous bruises. Mr Stephens was removed to the hospital, where he is progressing as well as can be expected.
