Mr Keith’s bridle number to be attached to : each horse should re- - Vj ceive a lair trial- in the vari-' ons events and it is anticipated that the. innovation will supercede the saddle cloth number. It possesses a. marked advantage over the latter, particularly in cases of close finishes between horses of a simlar colour. Trainers and others interested who have witnessed a trial of the improved method, ate very favourably impressed. Sixteen bookmakers have applied for licenses for to-morrow’s meeting.
The catering at the* local meeting is in the hands of Messrs Langley Bros. This is a guarantee that the public will be well-served. The publican’s booth will be conducted by Mr Wakeman, of Turakina.
Mr G. Knapp’s tender has been accepted for the horse paddocks.
Mr P. M. Ross will officiate as the Club’s course detective during the present meeting. All the appointments at the course for the convenience of the public are in excellent order, and Secretary Keith and the officials intend to make the gathering free from complaints.
