No-License Upheld. Later. Evidence was giveti at considerable length as to the procession of motor cars on the morning o£ thd poll. Some witnesses were posiy tive they saw the procession after" nine o’clock. The cars were leged to be attracting attention by { blowing their horns, and the first two cars in the , procession carried flags inscribed “Vote for NoLicense.” Other witnesses for the petitioners alleged that placards bearing such inscriptions as. “ Mothers, beware of your boys !” had been placed on hoardings in different parts of the town, and had not been removed on polling day. Evidence was also given as to certain irregularities at one of the polling booths, such as the issue of second voting papers, the sptoilf paper being retained in each case. The latter were sealed in an enve? lope and initialled by the scrutineers. The second voting papers . were issued' under instructions from the returning officer. After taking further evidence for the petitioners, the Magistrates adjourned to consider the position. They then announced that the petition was dismissed,, without calling on the other side to adduce ■ any evidence. The costs of counsel were allowed at twenty guineas, plus witnesses expenses, according 1 to scale. r
