FOXTON RACECOURSE TRUSTEES.
Annual Meeting.
The annual meeting of the Manawatu (Foxton) Racecourse Trustees was held in the Racing Club’s office yesterday afternoon. Present: Messrs J. Kebbell (chairman), John Davies and H. Thynne. The minutes of the last annual meeting were read and confirmed. The trustees paid a visit of inspection to the course. Upon resuming it was resolved that in consequence of the club not having expended the money voted last year towards the erection of a band stand, that the sum of be granted towards the erection of a building to be used as a tea kiosk.
Upon resuming the Trustees reported to members of the club as follows: “ Tbe Trustees of the Foxton Racecourse Reserve have very little to report this year. The rents have been paid regularly and deposited in the P.O. Savings Bank. The amount to credit is the course to-day and are gratified with the maintenance and upkeep of the reserve and buildings by the Racing Club and would suggest that a suitable building for a tea kiosk be erected towards which they have voted a sum of £20.” On the motion of Mr Jenks, seconded by Mr C, Robinson, the report was adopted. The Chairman and Mr Davies congratulated the club upon their efforts to maintain up-to-date appointments. Mr Jenks stated that a matter which would require attention in the near future, would be new foundations for the grandstand.
A vote of thanks to the chair ;erminated the meeting.
