HARRY K. THAW.

Lux&irias in tiio Criminal Asylum Fosiildden.

T New York, October 12. -i

The desperate efforts of the Thaw family to get Harry K. ! Thaw released from Matteawan Asylum have failed. Thousands of pounds have been spent, and many lawyers have been- engaged making repeated applications before various judges. Judge Mills, sitting at White Plains to-day, overruled the objections to Thaw’s conviction, and ordered his return to the criminal lunatic asylum. The court was crowded with fashionably dressed women, many ol whom bad travelled from New York to be present. Orders have now been given to the asylum authorities that no further favours are to be shown to Thaw. Hitherto he has enjoyed special apartments, and been permitted to receive all kinds of luxuries provided for him by his family and friends. The only step remaining to secure Thaw’s release is to induce the Federal courts to order the Matteawan authorities to produce him at his bankruptcy proceedings at Pittsburg. It is not expected that this move will meet with success.
