LOCAL OPTION.
The final results of the recount ot the Palmerston local option poll, which was completed yesterday afternoon, shows that continuance secured an actual majority of 263 votes. The figures are as follows ; Continuance ... 2822 Reduction ... 1725 No-L,icense ... 2559 Total valid votes ... 5565 Wm.r.iNGTON, Nov., 23. The official count of the Wellington licensing poll concluded tonight. The figures are : Continuance, 7979 ; reduction, 8378 ; no-license, 10,072 ; valid votes, 18,511 ; informal, 370. No proposal was carried. It would have required 1035 more votes of the total of 18,511 to carry no-license. Auckland, Nov., 24. The official result of the Parnell local option poll is : Continuance, 2662 ; reduction, 340 S ; uo-liceuse, 3664 ; valid votes, 6509. Reduction was carried, and uo-license lost by 239 votes. Ashburton, Nov., 24. The official recount of the licensing poll for Ashburton gives restoration 3071 votes and non-re-storation 2611. The number of valid votes was 5682. Restoration is therefore not carried.
