Before Messrs T. Rimmer and P. Hennessy, J’s.P., this morning, James Harper, seur., was charged with drunkenness, and was convicted and fined ros and costs, or 24 hours imprisonment. James Harper, junr., was charged with drunkenness, and also with resising Constables Woods and Sweeney in the execution of their duties. Accused pleaded guilty to both charges. The police asked for a substantial fine, as this was the second time accused had been before the Court within six months. He was convicted and discharged on the charge of drunkenness, and convicted and fined £2 with 7s costs, or 14 days’ imprisonment on the charge of resisting the police. Mr William Francis, Launceston Tas., writes: “ During the recent hot spell in Melbourne, I had a very severe attack of gastritis. I tried many remedies, but nothing did me any good.
