SCHOOL HOLIDAYS.
Clauses 65 and 66 of the Wanganui Education Board’s regulations have been revoked, and the following substituted In each year there shall be three term holidays commencing in May, September, and December respectively on dates notified each year by the Board. The deration of the first and second term holidays shall be one week and of the third term holiday six weeks. The following shall also be regarded as holidays: Good Friday and Easter Monday,
King’s Birthday and three, but not more than three single days at the discretion of the School Committee. The teacher’s periodical examination of pupils for progress promotion, and classification, shall in every case be held during the week preceding the term holidays. Teachers in attendance at Saturday instruction classes shall not be required to attend on the Saturday before any term holiday nor on the Saturday previous to the re-opening of the school, but pupil teachers in attendance at such classes shall be required to attend on the Saturday previous to the re-opening of the school.” The mid-summer holidays for this year will commence on Monday, 21st December, 1908. Schools will reopen on Monday, Ist February, 1909.
