A QUESTION FOR A BOROUGH COUNCIL

Christchurch, November 3. The question of the effect on the finances of the Borough of Lyttelton in the event of No-License being carried came before the Lyteltou Borough Council at its meeting last night. A letter was received from a ratepayer asking the opinion of the Council regarding land values in Lyttelton in the event of No-License being carried. The following motion was carried : “ That this council is of opinion that with the continuation of the present careful administration of the affairs of this borough it will not be necessary to increase the rates should No-Licensejbe carried in the Lyttelton electorate, and that a copy of this resolution be sent in reply to the letter.”
