Auckland, November 3

In connection with the opening of the Main Trunk Tine, about no invitations have been issued to those who will comprise the party leaving Auckland. These include the members and secretary of the council of the Railways League, members and secretary of the council of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, the Mayor and members of the Auckland City Council, chairman, secretary, and engineer of the Auckland Harbour Board, the exMayors of Auckland and suburbs, the foreign consuls, the Auckland provincial members ot both Houses of Parliament.

Auckland, November 4

The Rev. Mr W. R. Tuck, who presided at a no-license meeting last night, referred to the challenge issued by the other side with regard to prohibition in Maine. He said the Prohibition Party were prepared to accept the challenge, provided the money was deposited in the time allowed to get the figures. The Tramway Union passed a resolution condemning the action of its Sick and Accident Committee, in publishing a resolution committing to vote for continuance, asserting that members of the Union vote as they think fit.
