SCHOOL EXAMINATION.

The chief inspector, Mr Braik, and Inspector Strauchon, examined the local school yesterday, and the work of every scholar was carefully scrutinised and compared with the headmaster’s classification. A list of promotions was made out, which, we are informed, compared favourably with the headmaster’s promotions. Although the children are not supposed to be promoted till after the new year, the successful scholars will take up their new places next week.

The children are granted a holiday on Monday next.
