Ordinary Meeting.

Wanganui, This Day.

The ordinary meeting of the above was held last night. Present: —Messrs. Pirani (chairman), Aldridge, Bennett, Dixon, Fraser, Guthrie, Purnell and Spurdle.

Resignations :—H. Henderson, Horopito ; W. J. Watts, Kiwitea ; A, McLacblan, Wangaehu. Leave of absence :—J. Harre, Cheltenham ; F. A. Howie, Parawanui; F, M, State, Castle Cliff ; A. J. Siddells, Queens Park ; O. M. Coomber, Warrengate; M. Larren, Bunnythorpe, and C. D. Palmer, St. Johns. Miss Roche, Foxtou, wrote applying for transfer. It was resolved that Miss Roche be transferred when the Board can appoint her elsewhere.

Resolved that the holidays commence on the 21 st December and terminate on the Ist February. Cadet Camp.—Permission was granted to h >!d a cadet camp in Wanganui, provided that it is held in the last week of the holidays.

Mr Spurdle move! that the Board vote to the Fire Brigade for the splendid services rendered at the late fire at tie Wanganui District High School.

Mr Fraser said that the biigade’s services should be recognised and moved that the Board make representations to the Government for a grant of and that the brigade be heartily thanked for saving a part of the District High School. Mr Fraser’s motion was carried unanimously. Accounts amounting to ,£IOO2 10s qd were passed for payment. A great many very excellent applications were received for the position of carpenter "and builder to the Board and after very careful consideration, Mr Crafts, of Taihape, was appointed.

It was decided to hold the next meeting of the Board on Thursday, 19th Nov.
