ARCTIC EXPLORER’S DIARY.
The following telegram has been received from Lieutenant Trollc, master of the Denmark, the vessel of the ill-fated Greenland expedition, of which the leader, Mr Krichsen, and his comrades, Hagen and Bionlund, perished on the inland ice: — “The body of Mr Broulnnd was found in a crevice near cue of our depots. By the body were found sketches showing the results of the woik accomplished and also, the dead man’s diary, in which was written the following :
1 perished in latitude 79 deg. north under the hardships of the return journey over the inland ice in November. I reached this place under a waning moon, and cannot go on because of my frozen feet and the darkness. The bodies of the others are in the middle of the fjord. Hagen died on November 15th, Mylius Erichseu some ten days later. Jorgen Bronluud.
“ The coast of Greenland was explored as far as Cape Bridgman, deg., and into Peary Channel to Cape Glacier. “At Cape Glacier the Danish flag was hoisted and the country taken possession of for Denmark and called King Fiederick VIII. Land. No living people were enc« mitered.”
