MANAWATU ROWING CLUB.

The annual meeting of the above club was held in Mr. Perreau’s rooms last night. Ten members were present. Mr; B. G. Gower (president), occupied the chair. The eighteenth annual report showed that there were 26 active and two honorary members —a considerable falling off as compared 1 with previous years, which is at-_ tributable to the Inconveniences the present shed and plant. The report recommends that a new shedi be erected on a more suitable site.The bazaar resulted in a profit of £l% 15s 3d, and special mentions was made of the following who rendered valuable assistance: — Mesdames Gower, Phillips and Stewart; and to Messrs. Coley, Rimmer, McKegney and others for donations to the bazaar funds. The balance-sheet showed that the year commenced with a debit of £6 3s Bd, and ended with a credit of SS, £7B 15s 5d of which was raised by the bazaar. The value of assets over liabilities were balance-sheet as audited were adopted. The notice of motion re opening the season in the last week of August, instead of the end of September, was carried unanimously. The following new members were elected Messrs, Dr. Adams, E. Healey, W. C. Howan, E. Howan, A. Orwiu and Osborne. The following officers were elected : —President, B. G. Gower* Esq. (re-elected); captain, Mr. W. Gordon; vice-captain, Mr. J. W. Rough ; secretary, held over; treasurer, Mr. Hornblow; committee, Messrs. G. W. Morgan, White, and Whibley; auditors, Messrs. Baillie and Phillips; trustees, Messrs. B. G. Gower and M. Walker. Votes of thanks wefe accorded to the outgoing officers and committee.

A lengthy discussion ensued in <*- reference to the erection of a new ( , shed and selection of site. It was- \ suggested that the committee meet and decide the question at an early date. The meeting terminated with the usual votes of thanks.
