FOXTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
A Special meeting ot the Foxton Borough Council was held in the Council Chambers last night. Present.—His Worship the Mayor (B. G. Gower Esq.), Crs Coley, Shadbolt, Jenks, Baker, Fraukland and Hennessy.
Cr Hennessy reported that he had inspected the lamp posts at island Bay. They were 10ft. and would cost about £ll. not consider they were H. better than the present ones. Mayor handed in prices and K.gas which he had obtained Eiile in Palmerston from Mr Kartin and from Messis Scott, Riven and Co. The former were E>t at all suitable, and the latter Rmld cost £3 ios for the posts ■feie. ’

jFr. Jenks, seconded by Cr. Hennessy, that the gas jets be fixed on to telegraph and telephone posts wherever same are convenient and that the Public Works Committee be empowered to carry out the work at once.
Mr. Stewart wrote asking lint one of the old lamps be donated to the Good Templar Lodge, and on Lhe motion of Mr. Frankland, I conded by Mr. Stiles, it was deluded that the request be granted. E. l l was decided that the Public Berks Committee meet on WedHpiay morning at 10 o’clock. ■Erhe Council rose at 9.10 p.m.
