PRESBYTERIANISM.
A meeting of the district committee ql* the Presbyterian Church was held at the residence of Mr R. B. McKenzie, Carnarvon, at noon, yesterday. There were present Rev. I. Jolly (moderator), Rev. G. Aitkeu, and Messrs R. B. McKenzie and Rockel (Carnarvon), Richardson (Tiakitahuna), Tennant and Wilton (Oroua Bridge), Farmer and Amon (Glen Oroua), and Hornblovv (Foxton). Mr R. B. McKenzie read a statement in connection with the progress of the Foxton district charge, which was ordered to be embodied in the minute book. The financial statement to September 30th was presented and received and favourably commented upon by the moderator. It was ordered to be audited, printed, and circulated in the various districts.
The question of connecting Carnarvon with the Bulls charge was brought up and discussed. Carnarvon had previously expressed its objection to the change. The moderator pointed out that historically Carnarvon was part of the Bulls charge but owing to the bridge over the Raugitikei river being washed away it had since tien served from Foxtou end. The Foxtou district was too large and-, it- was the Presbytery's wish that efforts should be made to centralize more cn Foxton. The Bulls charge required opening out. After the delegates had expressed their views principally of regret at having to part with Carnarvon, the moderator stated that the matter' would be finally dealt with bv the Presbytery to-day. Several matters of minor importance were discussed and the meeting rose.
The delegates were most hospitably entertained by Mr and Miss Mckenzie.
