ROWING CLUB BAZAAR.

In another column we publish the programme of the above bazaar, which is to be held ou 16th, 17th, and 18th of next month. This affair promises to be one of the most successful of its kind ever held in Foxton, and introduces some entirely new features that are sure to take by the public. For some months past, a strong sewing bee has been occupied making useful articles, and bargains may be expected in abundance, and new novelties iu every class of article. Too much cannot be said in appreciation of the ladies, who have worked so untiringly in aid of this bazaar, and the public will bear out this assertion when the sale is open. As a general rule the public pay a shilling for admission to the hall for the privilege of seeing; the committee have determined that the public will be well looked after. In addition to the usual programme, every person who pays for admission to the hall will be entitled to participate in a raffle for a work of . art, valued at 30s. There will be three prizes, one for each night, the result being announced about v , 9.30 each night. Another new feature is the introduction of a pin cushion competition. A prize is offered for the best pin cushion handed in before 9 p.m. of the second night. The work is to become the property of the bazaar, and will be sold in aid of the funds. No stipulations are made as to size or style, but competitors find their own materials. New dances are under able tuition and will be staged with limelight effect. The orchestra, under Mr Cornwall, will * consist of piano, two violins and ? cornet. Mr Cornwall’s name is a sufficient guarantee of good music, and the public can depend upon hearing the very latest in this line. The hunt tor the hidden treasure is going to cause some good fun, and as this is the first competition of its kind ever held in Foxton, there should be some large entries. On the whole, we can safely say that the bazaar gives promise of hugh success.
