At Sydney, on Saturday, New South Wales defeated the AugloWelsh team by 6 points to 3. For the home team Gavin scored a try and Kenna kicked a penalty goal, and Gibbs registered a try for the Anglo-Welsh. During a scrum some disagreeable tactics were witnessed on both sides, booting and punching being glaringly visible. The scrapping ended in a prominent player on each side having a stand-up spar for a few seconds. The Thames Sub-union defeated Auckland at Thames on Saturday by x x points to nil. The match, Wellington v. Wanganui, played at Wanganui on Saturday, resulted in a win for Wellington by 25 points to 13. Southland and Manawatu played a drawn game at Palmerston on Saturday, the score at the call of time being 11 points each.
