HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT.
The High Commissioner cabled at noon yesterday as follows : Hemp market quiet, but rather steadier, spot good fair 15s ; fair, ; fair current Manila ,£23 5s ; October-December shipment, good fair, ,£26 10s; fair £2s ; fair current Manila, £23. Manila output last week 19,000 bales. AUCTION REPORT. Mr Percy M. Page reports a good attendance of buyers at the mart on Saturday last, when a very brisk business was done in all produce lines, seed potatoes being especially in demand, while other lines met with ready sale at the following prices : —Table potatoes, 7s 6d; Beauty of Hebron, Early Rose and Up-to-date, seed potatoes, 8s fid; onions, ns; pumpkins, Bs, all per cwt; carrots, 5s ; parsnips, 6s per sack ; fowl wheat, 5s 3d ; feed oats, 3s 3d to 3s fid ; partridge peas, 4s qd, all per bushel; oatin sheaf chaff, 26, 5s fid per sack ; leeks, id per bundle; lettuce, id to per head; bonedust, £5 15s; superphosphates, £5 5s ; blood manure, £S 5s ; potato manure, £5 5s ; f.o.b. trucks Petone. Other quotations on application. Fowls from is 5d to 2s 3d each. Ducks, 2s each.
