WINTER GARDEN FETE.
The final performance in connection with the Methodist Garden Fete, took place in the Public Hall on Thursday night, and was well attended. The dialogue, “Caught Napping,” was nicely carried out. Those taking part were : —Messrs E- Cowley and E. Bullard, and Misses D, and E. Signal, Walker (3), N, Cooper, and I. Eangley. The camp fire comedy, for which Mr Bullard was responsible, was simply immense, and created roars of laughter. It was a typical bush camp scene, and some of the actors presented very queer cuts. Mr R. Howard’s funnisms kept the audience in a ripple of laughter, and the rollicking tun by the boys was most amusing. Those taking part were: Messrs Bullard, R. Howard* Smith, Osborne, C. Bangs, C. Haydon, A. and B. Rimtuer, Pearce, and F. Moorman. Jokes, songs and choruses and recitations kept things moving merrily. Other contributors to the programme were : Mrs T. Gibson, who sang “The East Milestone,” and a pianoforte duet by Mr Berthold and Miss Honore. Miss C. Honore won the snow-balling competition and the Rev. P. J. Mairs the wool-winding.
