OUR POST OFFICE.

A TKnder of ,£2394 has been accepted for the erection of a Post Office at Featherston. Featherston is a Town Board district with a population of 635, 129 dwellings, and 170 ratepayers. It is represented in Parliament by a Government supporter. Up to the present, the railway station has been used for postal and telegraph purposes. The point we wish to make is that Foxton, with a population of 1500, is apparently to be satisfied with a new structure at a cost of What class of edifice the Department hope to erect for such sum passes our comprehension. We feel sure, that Mr Stevens will not allow public feeling to be outraged by the erection of a building limited to such cost. We await the estimates with interest.
