OBITUARY.

Maria Garson McLean— Aged 68. At the residence of Mr Swift, : Norbitou Road, yesterday, a wellknown Foxton identity in the person of Mrs Mcßean, relict of the late Mr Robert McLean, passed over to the great majority. Deceased had been ailing for some considerable time, and for the past two mouths had been confined to her bed. She bore her suffering with considerable fortitude, and ■ looked forward to the time when she would be taken Home, yQth that longing which.should chanfc* '■ terise every true Christian. She 1 was conscious to the last, and her end was peace. The late Mrs McLean was born in Great Yar- - mouth, Norfolk, England, and ar- . rived in Australia about 1866, leaving a few years later for New Zealand. In 1875 she married Mr Robert McLean, who pre-de- . ceased her about 17 years ago. - For the past 28 years she has resided in Foxton. Together with her late husband she took an active part in Methodist church-work. , The deceased had no relatives in New Zealand, but a brother survives her iu the Old Land. Two adopted daughters (Mrs A. Hamlin, of Leeston, Christchurch, aud 1 Miss F. Allman, of Kaponga, ' Tarauaki) together with a large circle of friends are left to mourn • their loss. The funeral will leave the residence of Mr Swift, for the F'oxtou Cemetery, at 2 o’clock on t Sunday afternoon. ,
