MANAWATU ROWING CLUB.
A meeting of the Commitee of, the local Rowing Club was held in the Hekau) Office yesterday afternoon. Mr Gordon occupied the chair. A statement of the club’s finances disclosed the fact that, with a few promised donations, the receipts and expenditure about • balanced. It was hoped that the bazaar, now in course of preparation, would enable the Club to ef-, feet much-needed repairs, etc., to the shed and material. The resignations of Mr G. Fowler (Secretary) and Mr F. D. Whibley (treasurer) were received with ' regret, and a motion in appreciation of their services was ordered to be recorded on the minutes. Mr Fowler stated that his change of residence to Palmerston did not mean that he would lose interest in the club’s affairs, as he continue to remain an active member. Mr James W. 'Hough consented to act as secretary pmp» tem and Mr Gordon as treasurer. It was decided to exhibit some of the works of art to be disposed of at the bazaar in local shop windows. After other formal business was discussed the meeting rose.
