AUCTION REPORT.
Percy M. Page reports a fair attendance of buyers at the Foxton Auction Mart on Saturday last, when a number of small lines were quitted. Owing to the s.s. “ Queen of the South ’’ being weather bound in Wellington a shipment of pumpkins and potatoes did not come to hand in time for the sale, but have since been received. Brisk business was done in cooking apples, cabbages, leeks, parsnips, onions and carrots, all cf which are in good demand. Several lines of poultry were also disposed of at satisfactory rates. Quotations : —Potatoes, 7s 6d ; pumpkins, 8s ; parsnips, 4s 6d ; carrots, 4s ; swedes, 4s 6d, (all per cwt); cabbage, 6s per sack; leeks, id per bundle, onions, 9s per cwt ; dessert apples, 4d per lb ; cooking apples 3d per lb, or 10s 6d and 8s 6d per case respectively. Poultry ; —White Leghorn roosters, 5s ; table no ters is qd each.
