FOOTBALL.

At the local racecourse on Saturday last, Awahou seniors defeated Albions by five points (converted try obtained by A. Cook) to nil. The game was one of the most interesting witnessed this season, but was a little on the rough side. Dr Adams refereed. The Albion juniors defeated Awahou juniors by eight points (two tries, one converted) to nil. Mr F. Woods refereed. Albion thirds defeated Awahou by 25 points to nil. Mr P. T. Robinson refereed.

The match England v. Wanganui, was played at Wanganui, in beautiful weather, before a large concourse of spectators, on Saturday. The ground was in splendid order, but slightly heavy after the recent rains. The game was interesting and exciting all through, the visitors leaving the field victorious by nine points to six.

The Anglo-Welsh team play the redoubtable Taranaki reps, at New Plymouth to-morrow, when it is anticipated their colours will be lowered.
