THE GISBORNE TRAGEDY.
Gisborne, June xxWalter Symons was charged at the Police Court this morning that he did feloniously shoot with a revolver Mary Agues Petersen, with intent in so doing to kill and murder her. Prisoner was not supported by counsel, and on the application of the police was remanded till Friday, June 19th. There has been an improvement to-day in the condition of the girl Petersen, and the medical attendants purpose giving her time to thoroughly recover from the shock before operating to take the bullet from the skull.
Later Details. Gisbornk, June xx. The victim in the Pakarae shooting case is to be operated on tomorrow morning, with a view to extracting the bullet, which is supposed to be embedded in the back of the skull. The latest medical advice is to the effect that Miss Peterson’s condition shows improvement, and there is now a slight hope of her recovery.
