OVERPROOF GINGER WINE.
Ihvercargiw,, Tuesday. At the Police Court to-day W. J. Moffett, Christian.,and Katrina Hansen and Andrew and Edith Matheson were charged with having unlawfully sold ginger wine containing an unlawful quantity of alcohol. Moffett was the manufacturer and the others the sellers of the wine. The Magistrate took a lenient view of the case and fined Hansen £l, convicted and discharged Matheson, and ordrered. Moffett to pay all costs, remarking that the case was not on a par with selling grog on the sly, but ■ was rather one of carelessness in trade.
