THE OROUA SEAT.
Mr. F, Y. Lethbridge’S announcement that he does not intend to seek re-election for the above seat at the forthcoming general election has created quite a flutter in political circles in and around Feilding. Mr Lethbridge represented both Rangitikei and Oroua in theOpoosition interests for some years, and is a man of irreproachable character. He has not been a “shining light” in the House, but has been consistent to his Party. His successor has not yet been named, but Mr Atkinson, a staunch supporter of the Opposition, and Chairman of the Feilding Chamber of Commerce, has already announced himself, and other candidates offering on the same side of politics are Messrs D. H. Guthrie (Ruahine), and J. Hockley (Waituna West). The following Liberal candidates are also in the field :—Messrs H. E. Crabb (farmer, Kimbolton), S. W. Fitzherbert (solicitor, Feilding), and R. Hornblow (newspaper proprietor, Maugaweka).
