WANGANUI EDUCATION BOARD.
By Telegraph—Special to Herald Wanganui, This Day. The ordinary monthly meeting of the Board was held last night. Present: Messrs Pirani (chairman), Aldridge, Bennett, Cargill, Dixon, Fraser, Gutherie, and Purnell.
Resignations were received from A. E. McNab, Aramoho ; B. Henderson, Rongotea; C. Henry, Riverton ; C. Franklin, Apili; E. Evans, Ramimu; C. E. Poynton Hawera, J, W. McNeale, Karewarewa ; K. McMeekin, Donolly. Miss McMeekin, withdrew her resignation, which the Board permitted. The following appointments were made : —Miss Inkpen; Hunter ville; A. McCo, Longacre Valley; Miss Flyger, Ohakune; Miss Day, Kapuni; Miss Herlihy, Kankatea; Miss Robson, Raetihi; J. Browning, Brunswick. Leave of absence was granted to M. Carmody, Taihape; T. Henderson, Horopito; B. Henderson, Rongotea ; V. Honeyfield, Taihape; R. C. D. Lightbourne, Mataroa; J. G. Blair, Wanganui ; P. Torus, Manutahi; L. J* Legner, Makirikiri; A. McDonogh, Campbell Street; J. W. Russell, QueensPark; F. Neilson, St. Johns, Ashhurst was granted £5 for repairs, also tank and cupboard. Himatangi was granted £l6 17s 6d for fencing school. Committees were authorised to fix next holiday on either Empire day or on Prince of Wales birthday, also that schools in the southern ward should close for the midwinter holidays during the Palmerston North show week. G aAs were received from the Government for technical schools in Wanganui and Marton, and for teachers residences in Kimbolton, Ngamatawauri, Opaku, Pukerokahu, Awahou, Kaponga, Auroa Raetihi.
